A: As of March 2025 You can connect up to 32 Fogstar Energy Racks in parallel, or 31 in parallel with Victron systems.
Q: Can I connect my Fogstar batteries with other brands of server rack batteries?
A: No, it is not recommended. Fogstar batteries are not compatible with other brands due to potential differences in power output, size, BMS and system compatibility.
Q: Do I need an inverter to use the Fogstar batteries?
A: No, the batteries can function without an inverter. However, if you want to use them with an inverter, the Fogstar PACE BMS supports various inverter protocols for seamless integration.
Q: How can I connect my Fogstar batteries with a Victron Multiplus II inverter?
A: You will need to purchase a separate Victron Cerbo GX and a type B Victron battery BMS to VE CAN cable to enable communication between the batteries and the inverter.
Q: Why isn't Fogstar on the approved list for my inverter?
A: Fogstar believes that inverter "approved lists" limit consumer choice and restrict market competition. They aim to make batteries affordable and accessible, and view these lists as hindering progress and innovation. While they may not be on your specific list, their batteries may still be compatible with your inverter.
Q: Does self-installation void my warranty?
A: No, self-installation does not affect your Fogstar warranty.

Q: Do you supply inverter cables?
A: No, Fogstar generally does not supply inverter cables with the 5.12kWh racks due to the varying needs of different inverters and setups. Cable types, lengths, and thicknesses depend on specific inverters and battery configurations. Most inverter manufacturers include these cables as standard accessories.
The 35mm cables provided are for connecting multiple Fogstar batteries together, not for connecting to the inverter. You only need these if you have more than one battery rack.
